RAF CROUGHTON, United Kingdom – Airman 1st Class Daron McDaniel Jr., 422nd Security Forces Squadron, stands guard at the RAF Croughton main gate as an Elite Gate Guardsman May 15 during Police Week 2013. This one-of-a-kind look was first seen during the Cold War when Gen. Curtis LeMay implemented the first Elite Gate Guard at Offutt Air Force Base, Neb. Offutt's elite guard was originally used as "Palace Guard" security for Strategic Air Command (SAC) headquarters buildings and also provided honors for visiting SAC dignitaries and drill team exhibitions. First ever Bob “The Dog” Shaw Classic held at RAF Alconbury
RAF ALCONBURY, United Kingdom – Members of the Peterborough Saxons, Cambridgeshire Cats and 501st Combat Support Wing give a final cheer for Bob "The Dog" Shaw at midfield after the first ever Bob "The Dog" Shaw Classic May 12 at the RAF Alconbury football field. Both teams have military personnel from RAF Alconbury, RAF Molesworth, RAF Mildenhall and RAF Lakenheath playing alongside British players. Coach Bob Shaw was a part of both teams as an offensive line coach for both the Saxons and Cats, and was the head coach for the Cats. RAF ALCONBURY, United Kingdom – Samuel Anwti, Cambridgeshire Cats running back, is upended by Wayne Gumbs, Peterborough Saxons defensive back, during the fourth quarter of the first ever Bob "The Dog" Shaw Classic May 12 at the RAF Alconbury football field. These two teams have a history of playing each other for years and consider each other rivals. Both teams also have military personnel from RAF Alconbury, RAF Molesworth, RAF Mildenhall and RAF Lakenheath playing alongside British players.
