423rd Air Base Group

The 423rd Air Base Group is a component of the 501st Combat Support Wing and is headquartered at RAF Alconbury, United Kingdom.
The group mission is to provide the best mission support services to the Joint International Operations Center Europe Analytic Center, Intelligence Fusion Centre, Joint Warfare Centre and the RAF Alconbury, RAF Molesworth and Stavanger Air Base, Norway, communities.
Stavanger Air Base located in Norway houses the 426th Air Base Squadron. The squadron mission is to provide base-level support to 220 U.S. service members and their families working in support of NATO's Joint Warfare Centre.
The group is made up of approximately 400 people assigned to the various squadrons throughout the group. The unit employs approximately 277 active duty military, 140 DoD Civilians and 170 Non-Appropriated Fund employees. 255 Ministry of Defence employees also work in the unit.
The group is organized into a group staff and six squadrons. The squadrons include the 423rd Communications Squadron, 423rd Medical Squadron, 423rd Security Forces Squadron, 423rd Force Support Squadron, and 423rd Civil Engineer Squadron. The 426th Air Base Squadron is also under the 423rd Air Base Group but is geographically separated and physically located at Stavanger Air Base, Norway.
