Innovator
Tim Hershberger, 420th Air Base Squadron site director, accepts the Innovator of the Month award on behalf of his squadron from Col. Angela Cadwell, 501st Combat Support Wing commander, April 17. The award recognized Nigel Mott and Andrew Pole, fire truck mechanics at the 420th ABS for their efforts in utilizing an existing no-foam test trailer to house an ultra-high pressure firefighting tool , saving the squadron from having to purchase additional equipment.
Their efforts to source, configure and troubleshoot the placement of the UHP firefighting tool saved the 420th Fire Emergency Services $5,000 in new trailer and water storage tank expenses. Mott’s and Pole’s innovation also eliminated the need to retrofit a fire emergency services vehicle that had existing equipment storage space limitations.
