RAF Alconbury African American Heritage Luncheon

RAF ALCONBURY, United Kingdom – Airmen from the 501st Combat Support Wing staff and 423rd Air Base Group go through the food line during the African American Heritage Luncheon at the Community Activities Center Feb. 20. The African American Heritage Committee hosted the event as part of African American Heritage Month. African American History Month is an intentional time of honoring and celebrating the journey of African-American men and women whose lives and accomplishments transformed America in the face of a cultural divide. “National African American History Month is a time to tell those stories of freedom won and honor the individuals who wrote them,” said President Barack Obama in a proclamation.
