501st Combat Support Wing:

US Air Force bases across the UK will now have a single, 24/7 point of contact for getting help with emergency repairs and buildings maintenance, as part of a wider new facilities management service which started on 1 November 2016.

Interserve, a support service and construction company, is now embedded at the US Air Force bases across the UK, to deliver facilities services across these sites.

In a five-year arrangement, Interserve is working in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence’s Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and the Unites States Air Force to support USAFE mission objectives in the UK.

Interserve now provides:
 A 24/7 Helpdesk for reporting building maintenance issues
 Housing maintenance for military families and resident personnel
 Planned and reactive buildings maintenance
 Hospitals and utilities infrastructure maintenance
 Grounds maintenance
 Snow and ice clearance
 Refuse collection
 Pest Control

This is the first time a centralised, 24-hour Helpdesk support service of this kind has been available to US Visiting Forces communities. The service, based at RAF Lakenheath, will give a common, high-quality experience for those reporting maintenance queries and repair requests across all bases, providing expert advice and specialist support, 365 days a year.

Previously, US Air Force sites in the UK have been served by several outsourced supportservices providers. Now, for the first time, the US Air Force’s estate will be managed by asingle provider, under a new contract called United States Forces Prime (USFP).

The joint collaborative approach between Interserve, DIO and USAFE is based on the DIO’sNext Generation Estate Contracts (NGEC) format, which brings together all current facilities services contracts within Interserve, to provide management, maintenance and development of the US Forces estate.

Amalgamating these contracts supports DIO goals to drive greater efficiencies, allow
flexibility to accommodate changes in estate requirements and funding in the future, while
providing vital support to US Air Force military operations and training.
