Pets are a wonderful way to add brightness to your day, and to help relieve stress. Often, they are our best friends and fondest companions. However, because of the United Kingdom's unique geographical situation, the UK government has strict requirements on pet travel and relocation. Vaccination laws are different from those in the U.S. and transporting your pet will be costly. For some tips on what to do to ensure your pet arrives safely click here.

Movement of Government Owned Firearms from, to and within the United Kingdom
Military members, DoD civilians and units who travel and/or transport government owned firearms in, out and within the United Kingdom for TDY, Exercises, deployment or redeployment purposes, must submit an official notification to USAFE- UK/A4 no later than 72 hrs prior to movement for proper coordination between MDP and local constabularies. This requirement applies to anyone traveling with firearms through air, sea and rail ports of embarkation and debarkation. The official form can be obtained by emailing email@example.com and must be submitted by the Unit’s Deployment Manager.
Reliable transportation is key to settling into a new base. The United Kingdom's vehicle laws differ slightly from U.S. laws but in most cases will not prevent you from shipping and driving your U.S. spec vehicle. Modifications to your headlamps, modifications to your fog lights, and passing a Ministry of Transport (MOT) test of your vehicle's safety are the usual actions required to legally drive your vehicle in the U.K.
U.K. Vehicle Registration
All vehicle registration is handled at the Pass & Registration office on RAF Molesworth. To register a U.K. vehicle on base, bring the vehicle's V5C document, which you should receive directly from the vehicle's previous owner. Additionally, you should bring your 3rd Air Force driver's license, which you will receive during your newcomer's briefing. You will also need your civilian driver’s license and MOT certificate.
Non-U.K. Vehicle Registration
For the registration of a vehicle from outside the U.K., bring your original title or registration certificate, your MOT certificate, and your Customs & Excise Form 941, which you will receive from Pass & Registration prior to collecting your vehicle from the Mildenhall VPC.
