RAF ALCONBURY, United Kingdom -- Stationed overseas and wondering how to vote? With the Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP), you can vote from anywhere in the world.
FVAP ensures service members, their eligible family members and overseas citizens are aware of their right to vote and have the tools to successfully do so.
Before starting the FVAP process ensure you are registered to vote.
The four basic steps to absentee voting are:
1. Citizens request an absentee ballot by filling out the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) and sending it to the appropriate state election office.
2. The election office approves or disapproves the FPCA, or requests additional information.
3. Once the FPCA is approved, the election office sends an absentee ballot to the citizen.
4. The citizen completes their ballet and returns it to their election office by their states deadline.
The 15th and 19th amendments allow all people the right to vote regardless of their race or sex.
