RAF FAIRFORD, England -- Airmen from RAF Mildenhall's 100th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and Logistics Readiness Squadron recently visited RAF Fairford for a “hot-pit refuel” using a fuel transport system called a pantograph. Hot-pit refueling is a technique used to eliminate downtime by keeping an engine running while the aircraft is refueled, which allows the aircraft to immediately prepare for taxi and take off once fueling is complete.
