Newbury, England -- Col. Michael J. Jewell, 501st Combat Support Wing commander, and Maj. Marques L. Reyes, 420th Munitions Squadron commander, joined our host nation partners to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory over Japan (V-J) Day in Newbury, England, Aug. 15, 2025. Together, we reflected on the sacrifices of those who served and reaffirmed our commitment to preserving peace and freedom.
V-J Day is commemorated on August 15th each year, and marks the date in 1945 when Japan surrendered to the Allied forces, ending WWII.
