RAF MENWITH HILL, United Kingdom - Tech. Sgt. Joseph Carter, 421st Air Base Squadron, was named the April 501st Everyday Hero from the 421st Air Base Group. Carter is the chief of plans and programs for the squadron's communications flight. RAF ALCONBURY, United Kingdom -- Tech. Sgt. Joseph Carter, 421st Air Base Squadron, was named the April 501st Everyday Hero from the 421st Air Base Group.

Carter is the chief of plans and programs for the squadron's communications flight. Additionally, he is responsible for all communication contracts and a budget in excess of $3 million.

He recently worked with a local telephone company to revise communications infrastructure drawings, which are critical for current and future base communications planning.

Carter also managed the storage and implementation of more than 200 new desktops. These systems will be used to replace 20 percent of all base desktops.
