RAF ALCONBURY, United Kingdom -- Staff Sgt. James John, 420th Munitions Squadron, was named the March 501st Everyday Hero from the 422nd Air Base Group.

John serves as a munitions inspector for a 4,000 short-ton war reserve material munitions stockpile.

He recently conducted a munitions inspection of more than 1,100 rounds of small arms ammunition. He was able to identify integrity issues with some of the munitions, preventing potentially faulty rounds from entering active service.
