RAF ALCONBURY, United Kingdom -- Staff Sgt. Karl Musik, 422nd Communications Squadron, was named the February 501st Everyday Hero from the 422nd Air Base Group.

Musik recently returned from a 180-day deployment supporting special operations forces in Afghanistan.

During his time at the 422nd CS he has a significant impact in his work center. His responsibilities include being a shift supervisor, trainer for six personnel and is known as the safety subject matter expert.

He is known in the squadron for always willing to aid an Airman in need and support the mission at any cost.
