July Innovator or the Month named

July Innovator of the Month named

RAF ALCONBURY, United Kingdom -- The 501st Combat Support Wing recently named the Innovator of the Month for July.

Hubert Braganza, 423rd Civil Engineer Squadron, was given the award for his innovation to discontinue delivery of American appliances to houses on the British economy. He identified that American appliances do not easily fit into the average British home, and by discontinuing the use would also enable significant savings in energy, water and cost of the appliance.

Braganza showed that British appliances use 15 percent less energy costs and 62 percent less in water costs than American appliances. Costs for purchasing the appliances also result in significant savings of more than $70,000 if the squadron purchased American appliances for 83 houses.
