RAF ALCONBURY, United Kingdom -- Moira Sands, 501st Combat Support Wing Regional Contracting Office, was named the August 501st Everyday Hero from the 501st CSW Staff.

Sands provides administrative support to the regional contracting office enabling day-to-day execution of government contracts as well as the government purchase card program. She is also the alternate system administrator for the Standard Procurement System which allows $20 million in Government contracts to be executed annually.

Recently she assisted with the transfer of excess computer equipment to support the incoming 501st CSW chaplain, and executed GPC purchases totaling more than $21,000.

Sands is also responsible for executing routine and short-notice system updates for the Standard Procurement System, and has been instrumental in keeping the wing staff properly supplied with necessary office supplies.
