The 501st Combat Support Wing recornigzed their first Everyday Hero during a recent Commander's Call.

Chief Master Sgt. Larence Kirby, 501st CSW command chief, announced Airman First Class Nathan Boudreau as the first Everyday Hero.

The Everyday Hero is designed to showcase Airmen at each of the groups and build a sense of awareness about the efforts at each of the 501st CSW's installations.

Airman Boudreau is an Electrical Power Production Journeyman with the 422nd Civil Engineer Squadron.

During the winter snows, he aggressively repaired the base snow/ice removal equipment, saving $22,000 in repair and replacement costs. He also responded to a massive steam break at the RAF Croughton Fitness Center, coordinating repairs to reopen the center in the three hours.

Reaching outside the installation, he championed the base energy reduction plan, escorting an audit team of 70 locals. His efforts decreased the inspection time by 25 percent, and have resulted in $4,000 in savings to date.
