RAF Molesworth recently hosted Certified Information Systems Security Professional and Certified Information Security Manager, Mr. Jason Hart.  The ex-ethical hacker and vice president of a major two-factor authentication firm visited as part of the RAF Molesworth Professional Education Series.

Mr. Hart has 17 years experience in the information security industry and has used his knowledge and expertise to create technologies that ensure organizations stay one step ahead of the security game. He continues to raise the profile of information security risks and solutions.

The audience was mesmerized by Hart's stories and demonstrations. In less than 30 seconds he was able to hack into a computer operated by one of the participants--with their permission, of course.

"Cloud computing and two-factor authentication are the wave of the future," Hart said. "Without using two- factor authentication, no company is safe from password attacks and will be a very simple target for any hacker."

"I have a much better understanding of how companies like Facebook and Google protect my accounts from attacks by hackers," said Tony Mattera, a participant at the event. "It is nice to know that companies like Jason's are around to develop the technology to keep our information safe."

"Two-factor authentication has been available for many years; however, with the ability to have a two- factor authentication solution as a cloud-based service, this allows anyone from individuals to enterprises to mitigate the password risk with the service both available and affordable," Hart told a participant.

The Professional Education Series is a monthly program featuring subject matter experts who speak on a variety of topics related to Africa, Europe, technology and more. The program is open to all RAF Molesworth and Tri-base employees.
