Get in the swing for Hangar Dance Published May 4, 2010 501st Combat Support Wing Public Affairs RAF MOLESWORTH, United Kingdom -- The Tri-Base community is holding a World War II Dance inside Hangar 92 at RAF Molesworth, June 5 at 6 p.m. The night will follow a 1940's themed atmosphere with a chance to meet fellow World War II enthusiasts. There will be authentic big band style music planned playing hits from the era. Tickets for the event cost £15 and 1940s style dress is encouraged. The event is free for veterans. The hangar dance will honor a group of World War II veterans from both the United States and United Kingdom. There will also be a full complement of memorabilia displays, souvenirs, prize drawings and dance performances by the 'Rug Cutters' throughout the evening. "We are extremely pleased this year to welcome the Mainland Big Band as well as the Silverbird Music Show to provide the memorable evening's entertainment," said Ms. Janet Nolan, Community Program director. To help prepare those who wish to dance at the event, RAF Alconbury Services is hosting a Lindy Hop dance workshop this Saturday, May 8, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the Community Center Ballroom.
