Yesterday, Chief Petty Officer Michell Jordan from the Joint Intelligence Operations Center Analytic Center Europe at RAF Molesworth took her reenlistment oath in front of 22 fellow team members just before competing in the only event of its kind in the world and one of the toughest contests to be undertaken, the Tough Guy Challenge. It consists of a unique blend of mud, freezing lakes, acrophobia, claustrophobia, barbed wire, fire and electro shocks.

"It is a Navy tradition that the reenlistee choose the place they want to reenlist" said Master Chief Petty Officer and JAC senior enlisted leader, John Frakes. "I have seen some unique venues in my career, but this one tops most."

This is Jordan's third reenlistment and the first time she competed in the Tough Guy. "Two of my fellow Sailors suggested this was a great venue to reenlist" said Jordan. "I have to say it was the most unusual yet exciting place to do it. An opportunity like that doesn't come around very often. "

Jordan was one of only four females from the JAC to compete. "It was 32 degrees and snowing when we arrived and it didn't warm up much during the entire event," Jordan said. "It was both physically and mentally challenging and I couldn't have done it without my team mates helping me out and cheering me on."

"This is a story I will share for a long time to come," Jordan said as she chuckled. "I am happy to have completed the Tough Guy Challenge and honored to reenlist in the Navy and continue to serve our great nation."
