Members of the Air Force Sergeant's Association, Chapter 1665, from the Tri-Base area continually look for ways to give back to the communities they live in. This holiday season they chose Wood Green Animal Shelter in Godmanchester as their focus.

The group collected over four hundred pounds of dry food, numerous cans of wet food, blankets, towels and toys for the furry friends at Wood Green.

"We are very pleased that so many people donated during this drive," said U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Ken Payne. "A lot of people have a soft spot when it comes to animals."

"We really appreciate the generosity from the U.S. military to our shelter," said Ms. Barbara Frances, Wood Green's Director for the Dog Welfare Team.

Wood Green rehomes over 5,000 pets per year and has set national standards in animal care.
"I have never seen so many people doing such great things for animals of all kinds," said U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Tracy Bozarth-Larouche. "Wood Green is by far one of the best of its kind."
