Fleet Master Chief Roy M. Maddocks, Jr. started his day at dawn engaging in physical training with RAF Molesworth's newest Chief Petty Officer selectees.  As EUCOM's Senior Enlisted Leader, and primary adviser to the Commander, U.S. European Command on enlisted matters, the Fleet Master Chief came to the UK to see for himself the morale, welfare, training, and quality of life in the Molesworth commands. He was joined on the visit by Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Allyn W. Webb, SEL for the EUCOM Director of Intelligence in Stuttgart, Germany.

JAC Senior Enlisted Leader, Navy Master Chief John C. Frakes noted that "it says a lot that the EUCOM SEL choose Molesworth, where over 50% of the USEUCOM HQ members work, as his first trip since taking office in Stuttgart. He got to really see the people who make the important mission here possible."

In addition to his charge from the EUCOM Commander to review changes and improvements in QOL issues here in the year and a half since his predecessor visited, his focus for the visit included professional development for assigned personnel, and seeing the active collaboration with partner nations in the Intelligence Fusion Centre in support of NATO also located at RAF Molesworth. Before his visit he also met with Chief Master Sergeant Pamela A. Derrow, the Command Chief Master Sergeant, United States Air Forces in Europe, in Germany, who urged him to visit USAFE's 501st Combat Support Wing at nearby RAF Alconbury http://www.501csw.usafe.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123162897 to see how it supports the Molesworth based units.  She also sugested that while in the UK, he visit the large USAFE base at RAF Lakenheath to compare and contrast the services available there with those at Alconbury and Molesworth.

During an all-enlisted call Fleet Master Chief Maddocks congratulated recent JAC award winners, including EUCOM Junior Servicemember of the Quarter, Petty Officer Sabrina Hunter, and EUCOM Junior Servicemember of the Year, Marine Corps Sgt. Tyler C. Gray. Realizing that he has already 'coined' him in Stuttgart, the Fleet Master Chief asked Sgt. Gray to name another outstanding servicemenber for a coin. A very surprised Army Specialist Leon E. McCree was called up to receive the honor!

Before concluding his visit to Molesworth, the EUCOM SEL visited the Intelligence Fusion Centre in support of NATO, where he was hosted by Canadian Master Warrant Officer Jorg Adler, the Sergeant Major of the unit and members from several of the 25 NATO nations.
