Ready, steady, GO! On a glorious Sunday morning, May 4th, fellow JIOCEUR Navy Personnel Senior Chief Petty Officer Alex Peloquin and Navy Lieutenant Katie Hall set out to conquer their quest of completing the Sarsen Trail Neolithic Marathon and Half Marathon respectively.

The yearly event takes place in the Wiltshire District of England where runners are exposed to the great English outdoors of leafy trails, tranquil rolling hills, leisurely meadows, green pastures, and the ultimate finishing line - Stonehenge.

Hours of training and personal preparations would test both runners as they anxiously set off on their respective race. Senior Chief Peloquin completed the 26 mile marathon in 3:38:02 and finished 43rd of 232 competitors who completed the race. Lieutenant Katie Hall completed the 13 mile half marathon in 2:25:35 and finished 92nd of 105 competitors who completed the race.

Both runners commented on the superb support provided by the keepers of the Sarsen Trail and the local support provided throughout the duration of the race.

"The run was challenging. yet easy enough for any first time marathon runner," said
Senior Chief Peloquin, a veteran marathon runner who also completed the winter 2007 United Kingdom Tough Guy competition.

"The achievement for our two Navy Sailors is outstanding and I highly encourage more participation next year to include myself," said Senior Chief Robert Judd, JIOCUER Navy Senior Enlisted Command Advisor
