U.S. and UK military personnel joined local community members for a memorial service at RAF Welford, England, Mar. 31, 2026. The service honored the brave multinational crew of 101 Squadron Lancaster DV290 SR-X, which tragically crashed on the airfield at RAF Welford March 31st 1944.

The team was returning home from a Nuremberg raid having conducted vital electronic countermeasures. Sadly the entire crew of 8 perished in the crash. Decades later, we continue to remember their sacrifice and service. The memorial stands as a lasting tribute to their courage and the enduring bond between nations.
