Change in UK visa requirements for military dependents

RAF MILDENHALL, ENGLAND -- Effective immediately, dependents of U.S. military personnel moving to the United Kingdom are no longer required to apply for a visa before entry unless they are nationals or citizens of a country on the U.K. Visa National List.

Border agents have been advised by the U.K. Home Office to permit entry for military dependents without visas. Eligible family members moving to the U.K. do still require a U.S. no-fee passport, which can be obtained with the aid of the nearest military installation passport office.

Military dependents who are nationals or citizens of a country listed on the U.K. Visa National List must have a visa before arriving to the U.K. The full list of countries can be found here: http://www.materials.ox.ac.uk/uploads/file/V-6VisaandNon-VisaNationals(Jan-14).pdf.
