501st CSW Everyday Hero Published July 24, 2013 RAF MENWITH HILL, United Kingdom -- Michael Fleming, 421st Air Base Squadron, was named June's 501st CSW Everyday Hero from the 421st Air Base Group. Fleming, the 421st ABS Force Support Flight Deputy, covered the IT support office operations by himself for six months. In this capacity, he has covered two full-time positions while serving 167 force support customers and a base population of 3,800. Despite the manning shortage, he served 150 customers this month with superb computer support and audio/visual (A/V) assistance. In one situation, he prepared the club ballroom for a general officer visit; where he was lauded by the legal office for his tremendous support. Additionally, he worked with vendors to get Foodtrak, a computer inventory system, back up and running after being down for two months. Ever involved in community activities, Fleming found the time to provide A/V support for a youth basketball tournament; attended by 282 British and American children. Fleming volunteered 16 hours to paint two art displays in the club, enhancing the atmosphere for the entire community.
