501st CSW Everyday Hero - 423 ABG March 2013
RAF ALCONBURY, United Kingdom – Vanessa Camacho, 423rd Medical Squadron, was named March’s 501st CSW Everyday Hero from the 423rd Air Base Group. Camacho, 423rd MDS Educational and Developmental Intervention Services (EDIS) administrative assistant, helps prove that the RAF Alconbury EDIS meets Department of Defense, Air Force and Health Services Inspection criteria. She is responsible for the annual completion and monitoring of 560 developmental screenings for a beneficiary population of 6,500 members. She tracks the unit’s continual self-inspection of 24 complex educational files, as well as security and maintenance of 45 retired files. Additionally, she coordinated multiple mailings to go out to 220 eligible families across three installations for the Spring Child Find program. As a mandatory/inspectable item, she deftly managed multiple appointments, files and awareness strategies to make it a successful program that is a cornerstone of EDIS outreach and prevention (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech.
