RAF ALCONBURY, United Kingdom – Tech. Sgt. Chrissy Best, 501st Combat Support Wing, was named May’s 501st CSW Everyday Hero from the 501st CSW staff. Best, 501st CSW Public Affairs, has stepped up to run the PA office during the PAO’s current deployment. This is a job that is normally done by an officer or a GS-11 or higher, she is excelling in leading the office with only six years of experience in PA as a photographer (due to the multimedia merger), and only five months experience doing the breadth of PA work. Her recent training in core PA work enabled her to answer nine media queries, and facilitate five different interviews for local and international newspaper, radio and television media outlets. Best led the way with a website redesign, streamlining the information on the wing website. Her efforts made information more easily accessible and intuitive to find for a site that received 23,108 visits in the month of April, with 119,564 different pageviews. Not leaving her photography roots behind, TSgt Best captured 2,293 images and accomplishing 28 work orders in the month of April, providing historical and public information documentation of wing events across the wing’s installations.
