501st CSW Innovator of the Month - March 2013
RAF ALCONBURY, United Kingdom – Staff Sgt. Adam Wright, 423rd Civil Engineer Squadron horizontal shop, was recently named the 501st Combat Support Wing Innovator of the Month for March. The Small Project Initiative funding to establish a new Non Appropriated Funds eatery at Building 503 on RAF Molesworth didn’t include the cost to improve the existing parking area to meet the increased parking demand. The cost to construct a new asphalt parking area required an additional $20,000. Wright recognized this shortfall and devised a plan to get asphalt millings from the contractor currently re-paving roads at RAF Molesworth. He also cooperated with the programs flight staff and DIO to ensure the proper contract authority was followed in re-utilizing the materials. The reuse of the asphalt millings eliminated the poor surface conditions and extensive water ponding. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Chrissy Best)
