RAF ALCONBURY, United Kingdom – Richard Matthews, 501st Combat Support Wing deputy budget officer of the financial management office, was named as January's 501st CSW Everyday Hero from the 501st CSW Staff. Matthews is responsible for wing funds exceeding $170 million spread across three main operating locations. He ensures the exceptional performance from USAFE’s smallest budget office, no other GS-9 in USAFE maintains his level of financial responsibility. Matthews has maintained the number 1 dormant travel order program in USAFE since last fiscal year which directly contributed to 501st CSW maintaining its status as the number1 Comptroller Office in the command for two consecutive years.
