Everyday Hero

RAF ALCONBURY, United Kingdom -- Master Sgt. Larry Way, 501st Combat Support Wing logistics office, was named December’s 501st CSW Everyday Hero from the 501st CSW Staff. Way, the logistics contracting officer representative, provides technical oversight of contracted vehicle maintenance, vehicle operations and the traffic management office, ensures a 97 percent vehicle in commission rate and is accountable for $400,000 worth of equipment and assets used by the contractors. He has been consolidating inputs from mission partners and wing offices to ensure the logistics contract going out for bid accurately represents the needs of the 501st CSW and mission partners. Way’s experience in heavy vehicle maintenance has been key to maintaining vehicle equipment at RAF Fairford, where provided his expertise to keep two firefighting vehicles in working order.
