Hikers Carole & Kevin Ryder During a Trek of the Cheviot Hills
British hikers Carole and Kevin Ryder during a trek of the Cheviot Hills on the English-Scottish border. It was on a peak similar to the one shown, where Carole Ryder spied a small piece of metal sticking out of the mud. The object turned out to be the B-17 machine gun which was returned to the JIOCEUR Analytic Center at RAF Molesworth, UK, almost 66 years after it lifted off from a Molesworth runway. Photo courtesy of Kevin and Carole Ryder.
