Next STEP for 421st Airman
RAF MENWITH HILL, United Kingdom - Staff Sgt. Katie Spencer-McTavish (center), 421st Communications Flight, receives her "tack-on" technical sergeant stripes from Col. Timothy Cashdollar, 501st Combat Support Wing ommander (right) and Chief Master Sgt. Larence Kirby, 501st CSW command chief, during an enlisted call Wednesday at the Menwith Hill Club. Sergeant Spencer-McTavish was surprised to be selected for her promotion through the Stripes for Exceptional Performers program, a program that recognizes a member's career accomplishments and promotes an Airman on the spot to the next rank. This is the third STEP promotion at Menwith Hill in the last six months. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Todd Wivell)
