Defenders maintain readiness with new M18 pistol

An U.S. Air Force Airman from the 423rd Security Forces Squadron (SFS), prepares to load simulated rounds into the magazine of an M18 handgun during a M18 qualification course at RAF Molesworth, England, July 28, 2020. The M18 Sig Sauer Modular Handgun System will be replacing the M9 Beretta which has been in use for over 30 years. During the course, Airmen from the 423rd SFS became familiar with the M18 and learned about its various functions and overall benefits such as improved ergonomics, target acquisition, reliability and durability to increase shooter lethality.
